The Smart Card

The TGI Smart card is an EMV card embedded with a microchip as well as the traditional magnetic stripe plus Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. The chip encrypts information to increase data security for members when transacting, making it nearly impossible for fraudsters to duplicate or clone the membership card. When the TGI smartcard is used at the medical services provider point of sale, the transaction message sent by the chip card to authorise the medical claim does not contain any data that can be used to counterfeit a chip or conduct an unauthorized medical claim reusing the data from a previous transaction.
